Keto Salad Dressing Recipe: Creamy Garlic Parmesan
Love creamy dressings?
Keto salad dressings are not always easy to find in the store. When you do, they are often full of food additives and preservatives that most of us don't want anything to do with. In fact, some of the preservatives (Maltodextrin for example) aren't grain free and can undermine our efforts.
The solution?
Make it!! This easy KetoDressing uses basic ingredients you probably already have around the house. It can be made either with heavy whipping cream or with kefir.
Why Kefir?
Milk Kefir is a fermented beverage that is loaded with good for you gut bugs (priobiotics). We find that sneaking kefir into a salad dressing is a great way to enjoy it's tangy flavor. It also has great shelf life in the refrigerator and will last for at least a week. We tend go through a full batch of this in 3-4 days.
This recipe also makes a great dip for veggies!
What if I don't have Kefir?
No problem! Instead of using milk kefir, just use heavy whipping cream in its place. Heavy whipping cream is a great keto recipe ingredient because it's very low in carbohydrates. I've included the macros for both heavy whipping cream and kefir so you can see how using one or the other changes up the macros.
How many carbohydrates are in Kefir?
If you head to the store and look at a kefir label, you'll notice quite a few carbs. That's because they ferment differently than a homemade milk kefir recipe. I recommend that you make your own kefir at home to truly enjoy a low carb kefir. During the fermentation process, the kefir grains eat the lactose in milk. (Lactose is sugar found in milk) Therefore, the result is a low-carb kefir. We ferment for about 3 days which yields in a tangy and low-carb kefir beverage!

Things Used in Creamy Parmesan Salad Dressing
My favorite brand of Mayonnaise is Avocado Mayonnaise by Primal Nutrition.
Penzy's came out with Roasted Garlic awhile back and we're absolutely in love with the depth of flavor it lends everything!
Penzy's also recently came out with a Toasted Onion Spice which we've also quickly fallen in love with.
For the Parmesan Cheese, we buy a large block at Costco and grate it and then store in the freezer where we have real cheese ready to use when needed. The stuff you'll find that's shelf stable in the canisters is generally NOT real cheese and won't lend the depth of flavor that real Parmesan will.

They work like this: You choose to click on an affiliate link on my website and make a purchase. Depending on my relationship with that company you just purchased from–I earn either a small percentage or a fixed amount for “referring” you to the company.
I only refer you to products and brands that I have used in the past or are currently using and that I like the quality of. In some cases, products are discontinued and I find a substitution. This is usually only for kitchen gadgets but sometimes companies stop making ingredients too!
